I paid for it......Might as well use it!!!
I opened stardock central, and saw a new beta version for WB5, and decided to update. After rebooting, I hit the start menu, and saw some pretty nasty bugs... Here are some pics of the bugs in action... I guess I will have to go back to 5.01.006 til the bugs are fixed...

I see the same things (posting my sysinfo for helpful troubleshooting):

WindowBlinds 5.0 System Information Report:

STATUS : WB+ SRV+ HLP+ UI+ TRAY+

WindowBlinds is installed correctly on this PC.

WindowBlinds appears to be activated on this PC

Your machine does not support per pixel borders on WindowBlinds skins.

This is because :

Your computer is currently in 16 or 24 bit colour mode and WindowBlinds needs to be in 32 bit colour mode to use per pixel borders. Please adjust the colour depth of your display to 32 bit colour. If this is not an option, then you may want to see if you can obtain new drivers for your graphics hardware.

Your computer graphics hardware does not support acceleration of per pixel alpha. WindowBlinds requires this for per pixel alphablended borders as without it performance would be poor. Please see if you can obtain new drivers for your graphics hardware. Recent ATI & NVIDIA boards should support this feature. Onboard graphics tend not to.

You have one monitor in total.

I too had this problem after the recent update.

I went back to prior build and now all is well. Here is the report after going back.

I'm sure it's the unboard Graphics Controller.

Intel isn't updating the drivers anymore. Oh well, Vista is coming and a new machine will be in order but until then this will do.

Yup. I see that odd transparent startmenu from time to time as well. (Don't see the pink stuff though) And the "more" arrow on my menus doesn't who, instead you see through to whatever is behind the menu.
I'm using the Alysseum Citron Plus skin.

Would all of you be using 16/24 bit colour?
on Jun 20, 2006
As indicated in my specs . . . that's all the stupid card will support. Stupid free second-hand computer.

32 bit.

The thing is. I recently formatted my computer. Before I used the same theme and everything was fine. When I reinstalled everything the only difference I can think of was that I had newer graphic card drivers. Not sure if I had the same WB version installed because I didn't check, but I installed the newest version of SDC.

thomassen: I am not sure your problem is the same, but if you can capture a screenshot of it next time it happens it may help.

Based on these reports and another report from elsewhere, it seems some intel integrated graphics chipsets are having a problem with the startmenu in the latest WB build.

MasterSchwag: What skin are you using and do you also have intel graphics (or 16/24 bit colour?)

I am using a personal skin, and have my graphics set at 32 bit color.
